“Nancy, Howard and Rick are among the best leaders in the industry, and
their appointments will help ensure Tribune Publishing’s continued
success as a diversified, multiplatform company,” Griffin said. “Our
iconic publications are the most-respected news and information brands
in their respective communities. Working with their teams, Nancy, Howard
and Rick will continue to create engaging experiences for our audiences
and advertising partners.”
Meyer’s promotion to Publisher/CEO of Orlando Sentinel Media Group
follows a successful, eight-year run at the Hartford Courant Media
Group, where she introduced a number of innovative print and digital
experiences. Daniels, who replaces Meyer at the Hartford Courant,
is an industry veteran who has overseen many well-known media
brands, including The Boston Globe and GateHouse Media New
England, as well as numerous digital start-ups and early stage ventures.
Greenberg, who has served as Publisher/CEO of both the Orlando
Sentinel Media Group and the Sun-Sentinel Media Group, will
focus on continued growth at the South Florida property.
-
During her tenure, Meyer expanded the reach of the Hartford Courant
across all platforms and guided the successful acquisition of Reminder
Media publications, the largest weekly newspaper group in Connecticut.
Additionally, Meyer oversaw the launch of the CTNOW and CTNOW.com
entertainment brands and orchestrated the successful celebration of Hartford
Courant’s 250th anniversary in 2014. Meyer will be
based in Orlando.
-
Under Greenberg’s leadership, the Sun-Sentinel earned a
Pulitzer Prize for public service, and both the Sun-Sentinel Media
Group and Orlando Sentinel Media Group introduced
numerous print, digital and advertising innovations. The two markets
worked together as “One Florida” and used their scale to create
significant operating efficiencies, including the launch of an
ad-building studio, which now produces locally built ads for all
Tribune Publishing newspapers. In addition, Greenberg led the Florida
teams on the introductions of several digital products, including
SouthFlorida.com and the recent next-generation digital experience for Sun-Sentinel
and Orlando Sentinel. Greenberg will be based in Fort
Lauderdale.

Daniels joins Tribune Publishing with an accomplished track record of
running major media brands and digital companies in New England.
Daniels most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of GoLocal24,
a Rhode Island-based digital news company. He previously served as
President/CEO of GateHouse Media New England, where he spearheaded the
rapid expansion of the company’s digital audience for its more than
100 newspapers and 160 web sites. Daniels also spent 23 years at The
Boston Globe, six as President/General Manager, during which the
paper earned three Pulitzer Prizes. Daniels will be based in Hartford.
The appointments take effect in early November.
