Well license transfers from Suncor

Posted yesterday on AER. Seems very strange in that these wells are way up in NW Alberta, north of Grande Cache.

eb 26, 2024

Application to transfer existing AER licences from the current licensee of record Suncor Energy Inc. to Prairie Provident Resources Canada Ltd. Application includes 5 Wells Licence(s).

Strange indeed! So suncore aware of PP; hopefully their tax bucket too!

Are you suggesting that PPR might have swapped tax loss pools for the SU licenses? How would that work?
Comment by balar24 on Feb 29, 2024 9:31am
No, I am saying that suncore may be aware of Ppr tax pool too and might be interested to buy it for free.
Comment by filefish on Feb 29, 2024 9:42am
Not free, when those PPR tax pools are worth more than double the market value of its stock. These license transfers do seem to indicate that there may yet be life ahead for PPR.

I emailed CEO Rawlyk regarding this on February 28th, asking if he had any comment to make regarding the Suncor transaction.  More than a week now, and no response. At least the stock price is starting to move once again.  Looks like the bottom is finally in.

SilverSam, I dont think they are much interested in their retail shareholders. They only need to answer to PCEP who own 75% of PPR. However, please share Rawlyk's reply if and when he does answer. I would feel better about the bottom being in if I actually saw some company insiders putting their own money into stock purchases. I am also following the AER application reports as PPR seems to be ...more

I will post any response I do receive.  And thanks for keeping the rest of us up-to-date on the recent PPR activities, as well as sharing your insights.  I'm sure many of the readers of these posts find your contributions quite helpful in discerning whether and how much to invest in PPR.  While other  post contributors to various companies take a "pump and dump" ...more

Application 1950116 Suncor Energy Inc. The 5 well license transfer from Suncor was just approved by AER. Why are they buying when the whole emphasis up until now has been to sell.?  on April 26, 2024. View the decision Activity Application to transfer existing AER licences from the current licensee of record Suncor ...more

Looking at these on Petro-Ninja map, they are very old abandoned wells. Maybe PPR believes they can bring them back to life?

We can speculate about the reasons until the cows come home, but the only ones who have the answers are management, and unfortunately, they're not talking.

Apparently - and not surprisingly! - PPR management is not the only management of a company irking shareholders by their lack of communication. I share with you below the venting of one particular shareholder of CPL: Perhaps after the assays are released, company promotions may appeal to many more potential investors! However, it would appear that the arrogance of management towards its ...more
