TORONTO (SHfn) – Coronado Resources (TSX: V.CRD, Stock Forum) shares surged as much as 46% to 24 cents on Wednesday after the micro cap miner announced that the diamond drill program on its wholly-owned Madison Gold/Copper property in Montana has intersected 70 feet of .779 ounces/ton gold (26.71 grams/tonne) between 49 and 119 feet.

As well, shares of Lyrtech (TSX: V.LTK, Stock Forum) shot up 113% to 17 cents as the provider of digital signal processing technologies said it has signed an OEM agreement with an undisclosed customer to design, develop and deliver intelligent motion detection modules based on existing Lyrtech intelligent optical sensing (IOS) technology. The contract, expected to span two years, is worth US$28 million.

Evolving Gold (TSX: V.EVG, Stock Forum) shares powered 25% higher to 86 cents after the junior explorer announced a private placement in which Goldcorp will purchase 19,047,721 common shares of the company at a price of 82 cents per share, representing approximately 15% of the issued and outstanding common shares of Evolving Gold, for total proceeds of $15,619,131.22.

Prophecy Resource (TSX: V.PCY, Stock Forum), meanwhile, reported that it detected a strong IP anomaly at its Disco Nickel-Copper-Cobalt Deposit in Lynn Lake, Manitoba. Prophecy stock popped as much as 16% to 55 cents.

And, GoldQuest Mining (TSX: V.GQC, Stock Forum) late Tuesday announced results from drilling on its Las Tres Palmas project in the Dominican Republic, which included 26.0 metres grading 11.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold. GoldQuest shares added as much as18% at 19.5 cents on Wednesday.
