System Announcement2023-02-06

New Bullboard Design

Check out this announcement of changes to our Bullboard Design that we posted on Feb 2, 2023. It provides some insight into what the new design will look like.

  • Cosmetic changes to standardize the look and interactions of Posts and Comments across the site
  • Easier to read format on both Desktop and Mobile
  • A more industry normalized navigation of Posts and Comments, making it easier for users to explore the Bullboards
  • Focus on the Post Discussion so comments are in context of the discussion taking place
  • Introduction of the # of views of Posts and Comments at all levels of the Bullboard
  • Introduction of a Share button on a post so it can be shared on social media platforms
  • Easier access to the Report Abuse button on posts

A Couple of Features to Look For

Sharing Posts and Comments

When you open the detail page of a Post, you'll now find a "Share" button below the post content. Clicking the "Share" button will allow you to copy the link for the post being viewed, or to immediately share it on Facebook or Twitter. This makes it easy to share your post or others to your favorite social media platform. Look for the following action bar at the bottom of the post:

Posts & Comments View

Although everyone is defaulted to using the new Post view which favors top-level topics, we have provided a Settings option on the Bullboards that will allow users to view all Posts & Comments as a list that's ordered from the most recent to the oldest. This is the same view that many members have been forced to use over the years. Our hope is that members will try the top-level Post view, however, we recognize that it's important to give you the ability to switch to a view that is comfortable for you.

To make this change, click on the "Settings" gear icon at the top of the main Bullboard page:

You can then select the options of how you want to see Posts filtered and ordered for the Bullboard page as well as the discussion view:

Quality Improvement of Top-Level Posts

The first Post opening a discussion will be strictly reviewed by Stockhouse for compliance with our Community Policies. The Post should be a kick-start of a substantive topic to share your thoughts and opinions. Any initial Post that is not used to introduce a topic about the company, it's products or services, or the sector it belongs to will be removed. If you have comments about the topic then please do so by commenting on the Post (or subsquent comments) and not doing it from a new Post. All community policies will be very strictly applied to initial Posts, including the Bullying, Profanity, and Off Topic policies.

In the discussion view we have made it easier to report posts and comments that you believe violate our Community Policies. We ask all members to continue to report violations for assessment by our Community Management team. If you believe that the top-level Post of a discussion is not substantive please report it to our team as 'Off Topic' and tell us why. Together we can ensure that we continue to improve the discussion for everyone.

We'd like to thank our members for the help they've provided over the last two months as we applied our new Community Policies.

Thank You

We are very excited for this change to the Bullboards and we hope that existing and new members will find it a positive change. We'd like to thank you for your continued support and loyalty to Stockhouse while we provide updates to our processes and the site moving forward.
