Man, they sure hate this stock. I can't remember them owning this many shares to dump.

I'm puzzled why Goldman would be selling now.  Were they among the investors/analysts visiting the site last week (re: '7 minutes with Bill')?  Was there something they didn't like?  What was their cost basis -- are they selling at a loss?  The price action is disconcerting.  I'm thinking buying into a rise after good news would be wiser.  You know ...more

Anyone know how many shares GS has? I don't see them listed in the major shareholders list here: https://quote.morningstar.ca/Quicktakes/owners/MajorShareholders.aspx?t=BZA&region=CAN&culture=en-CA That page lists major shareholders down to 0.6% of the company (or 1.2m shares), so presumably GS has fewer than that? Shouldn't take them too long to finish if that's the case.

  It's apparently escaped the attention of some people that brokerages like GS and TD, not to mention every other brokerage in the world, have something called "clients". Those are people for whom they typically buy and/or sell (i.e., broker) stocks in the marketplace.  Sure, they add or subtract shares from their house accounts, but that activity is typically related to ...more

Probably 99% of the investors on this message board - and I use the term "investor" hilariously - have absolutely no clue how financial markets really work, and they're mostly too lazy and lack the grey cells anyway to learn.  So, they tighten the chin strap on their tinfoil hats and tell BoogeyMan Stories to one another.

I suspected as much that the GS trades are client-side; the ongoing discussion here about GS offloading its position is misleading.  However, GS manages funds on behalf of clients so there is probably some truth to the suggestion that analysts at GS are selling or recommending the selling of this share.
