He will make about $160,000 if he dumps the shares. The top exercise must be an error.  Why would he exercise .39 options when the share price is well below that.

Why would he pay 39 cents for shares when he can buy them for 17?  Doesn't make sense.  If they hit their expiry date he would just let them expire.  Or reprice them.
