RE:RE:higher grade starter zones
RE:RE:higher grade starter zonesIt's not really 'lower grade'. It is material with lower graphite content. Because content is lower more material needs to be processed to obtained the same amount as a higher content. I.e. 1% content will yield 1 ton of graphite for every 100 tonnes processed vs 2% which would yield 2 tonnes for every 100 processed. This increases the processing cost. That said, having reviewed some other PEAs, the benefits of location likely outweigh the additional costs. The simple AMOUNT of material they have on the one site is also so mind blowing that I don't know that it matters. I'm by no means even an armchair expert, but comparing their results to some others, the deposit still seems exceptionally good. The cutoff in their estimate was based on 1% vs Mason which I think was 1.6. Others can likely explain more and better; in particular as it relates to the oxidized graphite content they referred to in several news releases.
