60% is outrageous

60% is outrageousand wreaks of desperation.  It will be interesting to find out what they intend to do with the money and where it came from.  If they intend to use it for co-bottling and using Canopy's IP and recipes for cannabinoid infused beverages in the US, that would be good imho.  If they are going to piss it away on finders fees and to pay existing bills, that is another thing.  The already existing financing deal wasn't that rich and why we didn't take the cheaper option is a question that needs to be answered.  Canopy is and always has been an acquisition company, buying up companies to build a tail to snout world class company so the Acreage deal is no different and not a frivolous segway, high risk gamble but more an essential acquisition to continue with the venue of being the leader in the world.  Acreage has already launched some products of Canopy's in the US, once removed of course so Canopy isn't handling the product to jeapordize losing their listings or stirring up the Feds to seizure of assets or criminal charges.  I put heavy stock and skin in the game for infused beverages as did Constellation, who are good management and have enough clout with Canopy as to be running the show.  Maybe they need the money to buy Tinley Beverages who have award winning recipes and are on shelves in Caifornia, lol!  I've got to believe that the US is going to sort out marijuana for adult use and pharma use and allow the full launch of the US greenrush because it seems to me to be inevitable and a political plum for the next election.  It worked for shyt for brains Trudeau in Canada and could be the gamechanger Stateside for who wins the election.  In the meantime, I am already dissapointed in the performance of Acreage and it appears to be all or nothing for this as an investment.  I've got to believe that Constellation and Canopy have good intentions to honour the deal and this interesting financing development needs to watched, analyzed and scrutinized to determine if this is another grab by the big money or essential to survival or building this arm of the company.
