I feel the same way you do.  How can holding investments in solid companies with a great resource base not be a better inflation hedge then holding cash which is constantly being devalued !  Short term periods and panic days like today really can weight on ones thought process, but most of these names are held in my retirement account which won't be used for 30 years and I can guarantee one thing cash over a 30 year period , especially earning next to zero interest will definitely not allow me to retire, so whats a guy to do ?
