The OTCQX and QB are recognized by the SEC, however, there are no reporting standards for the pink and grey sheet companies. For Canadian stocks, the standards exist in Canada and it is easier to be listed on the pinks. Investors are protected by Canadian Law. Graduating provides greater accesss to investors that may shy away from the pink sheet stcoks. Grey stocks are not anyone's friend. Just my opinion.

I only ever bought into a Grey market stock once, and was very happy when they later upgraded to the OTCQX market. Another plus to the QX and QB is that they show bid/ask quotes from every MM (e.g. https://www.otcmarkets.com/stock/ALXDF/quote). Pink sheet stocks only show the best bid and ask, while Grey market stocks show no bid or ask.
