I got the Meyers letter today in the mail... I have tracked a lot of these "to good to be true" stocks just for fun when "the letters" come in to the old mailbox...  90% of the time, the stock goes up a little tiny bit, with huge volume, and then sinks into the gutter... I would feel a whole lot better if the letter was never blasted out... Thats my first red flag... Second... I have not dug too deep into this, but... Either I am reading it wrong, or Peabody never tried to "buy out" the company... From what I can tell, they simply offered to pay for the drilling in exchange for the right to aquire any mineral reserves that their drilling proved up...Tiny companies at times will do these sorts of things to get exploration work done without having to finance it themselves. It doesn't mean that the whole company was being considered for a takeover...   It just seems like the facts have all been "bent" to appear to other things... Classic of P&D's... Tell a little bit of truth with a whole lot of other stuff...
Listen gang... Please don't misunderstand me. I was intregued with this company, but the red flags scare me... I wish you all luck, but I am staying away myself....

I do agree with you as far as getting these promo things that pump up a stock,  you start to wnoder what % of them are legit,   like i say I certainley would not bet the farm but I do think in this case that the good info out weighs the bad.   I have not really found anything negative on Gryphon so I just can't imagine taht they would not have done some DD of there own

I just happened to read about this stock today. The Myers urgent buy alert says that AMPW was a takeover target of Peabody. But that is NOT what the SEC filing says....the filing says it was merely to finance the exploration drilling program on Pace in exchange for an option....definitely not the same as a takeover target. Still looks interesting but hope no one buys based on that report."
