Zarko should nominate RecycLiCo's process for an EGBC 2024 project award. EGBC is Engineers & Geoscientists of BC, the body that regulates all professional engineers who practice in BC. As we all know, RecycLiCo is located in Vancouver, BC.
Looking at the EGBC website (
link), there is an "Innovation in Sustainability Award" that is awarded to "
an engineering or geoscience project that addresses environmental protection and environmental enhancement, developing solutions to address a changing climate, and seeking to realize sustainable outcomes." With Recyclico's goal of creating a sustainable circular battery supply chain and the fact that they have signed JV's now, they should be a shoe-in for this sustainability award.
Interestingly, the EGBC website lists Zarko as being a Mining Engineer-in-Training in 2017, but it does not appear he pursued it all the way to becoming a full P. Eng. The nomination would likely need to be made under Norman Chow from Kemetco, who is a BC P. Eng., and who according to the recent Munro video is a co-inventor of the RecycLiCo process.
Even if they are nominated and don't win, they will get good coverage in the BC P. Eng. magazine that lists all of the finalist projects.
Nomination submissions start next year, and close end of April 2024. Zarko, put a reminder in your Outlook now so you don't forget!
