Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

RE:A post for the nervous non believers
Great post. One note, the revenues for Diageo are 18.11 billion GBP per year (2017). That's That's $31.83B Canadian of revenues per year.

The market cap of Diageo is $90.1B USD = $119.7B CAD

Numbers can be tricky since it's listed on the NYSE as DEO as an ADR but it's really a UK based corportation

Acquiring Aphria is peanuts for Diageo. And all of these alcohol industry players know they have to take out the competition. They can't let these marijuana leaders steal their market share without getting in on the action. Legalization is a game changer for them.

Today's market cap for Aphria is just $2.6B and still under $3B with the recent fund raise to build out the 240,000 KG extraction facilities which is a huge attraction to these adult beverage industry leaders.

Don't be surprised to see a bidding war between Molsons and Diageo.
