My take on this messI didn't want to post during this mess. It has taken us all by surprise. It is a financial devastation for most of us. Congrats to Hippodot and his shorter aliases and friends. I mean that. Shorting isn't illegal and at least Hippo was honest about it. I respect that.
For the longs. I hope some of you got out of the way of the hurricane. It was too much pain to bear. If you have cash and are down we wait for CONFIRMATION that the company is salvagable. Otherwise it is bad money after good. I think APHRIA survives. I don't think Vic or Andy do.
They will want scapegoats. Vic and Andy will be the sacrifice or we go down in flames.
In developing nations this is how business is done. I don't blame Andy or Vic. You do deals in cash and we aren't the first company to do it. I'd bet even the largest corporations also have these challenges. Unfortunately when you open your books to NYC you are in the lions den. Apha decided to join the fray but I don't understand how they think they'd get away with it if they are indeed guilty because the type of DD that multinationals do isn't superficial. I suspect that Altria is behind the short. I suspect that they'll try to be the White Knight and buy out Aphria for a fair but lower premium should it survive this. It makes sense as Cronos is just more expensive and not as good...why would you bother when you now know all you need to know about Aphria...they've seen all the warts.
So far Aphria has handled this mess like absolute amateurs. I could do a better job with Microsoft Clip Art and a desktop than they have. No social media, no presence on the airwaves, no PR of any real substance. This is a shorters DREAM SITUATION. This damage is partially at the feet of Aphria management. They have let it destroy the stock. No excuses. You can hate the shorters but why no real defence of the accusations? Not enough time? Come on.
We are seeing posts coming out of Leamington. The problem is that we are sending high school educated people to defend against Ivy League attacks. Even one spelling or gramatical error on a statement is painful as a shareholder. It shows incompetence and weakness. I wish I could help but it looks as though they aren't interested in any help.
Don't be foolish and look to catch a falling knife. Wait for confirmation and buy in when you know your money is safe. You'll pay more...maybe $8-9 but at least you'll get some safety and you can make back your money slowly and surely. Don't be a reckless hero despite what anyone says right now. This is REAL MONEY we are talking about. The accusations are REAL and have not been responded to properly. Don't risk your hard earned money on a company that isn't supporting you or the stock right now. I know I won't. I'm down HUGE. It's embarrassing. I feel gutted. All this research and confirmations that I know was real...now all down the drain. Don't fret. From disaster comes opportunity. If anyone wants to colaborate on how we can recover from this, I'm available to disucss and plan. Inbox me or don't...I understand that many are just so angry. I am going to rebuild. Either here with Aphria should they EVER respond properly....or I will rebuild with the many companies that have been crushed due to this news...and there are many that have.
