Want something to be excited about? We can bicker about the share conversion ratio but if it was 0.75 people would still complain. A 23% premium on Tilray for a market cap that is half of what it was last year? Sign me up. People are distracted by the 100M savings over two years because it was a tangible number broadcast right in front of them.
But if you take Tilray's 5000kg sold last quarter and we reduce that anywhere from $3-5 to $1 we're adding $15 million per quarter off the hop! That's $0.03 per share for the combined company when we're already flirting with profit and complaining about a loss of a cent or two. Tilray could report positive EBITDA in February now that the Portugal facility is done. We'll have some impairment charges finalizing the transition on paper but at least it's not cash. We're done putting big money towards capex.
We will post a "paper" loss at some point like we did last July but I promise a strong chance of cold hard cash putting us in the black by this time next year :) Maybe Tilray or Aphria could even continue to clean up their books in the 2021 fiscal year for tax reasons before the merger to avoid taking a hit in 2022
