The best solution for shareholders

Yeah - perhaps this is the best solution - give us a bit more of dividend, and reduce payout to the exiting management. Then we might say YES. Letting a NO vote win may not be the best deal too - what's the point of trying to keep a management that sold ER (our cash cow), and may be unwilling to work anymore ?

Trying to force them to stay may only cause them to try 'other new tricks' in future. If they wanna go, release them, but give us a fair deal ! It's better to let them go !!!

If this merger does not go through and presently it doesn't look like it will, then we need major changes to both the BOD and the management team. The shareholders voting against the merger are saying that we don't trust your decisions. I did vote for the merger, but I am now thinking about changing it, if I can... Kherson

A contract means that there are obligations to be met. Do you feel you have been fairly represented? Anything can be changed Joe. Many executives did not take home what their contacts had stated post 2008 meltdown because they either didn't deserve it(some were lucky to escape without jail time), or the company could no longer afford it. I'm with Kherson, we need new management, and we ...more

We don,t want any of the managers who negotiated this rotten deal for shareholders. They have lost what little credibility they had. No one will hire them.

Joe, the merger does not give new management just old management from chx...the new management will come after a no vote at the next agm...and who knows perhaps all you need is a few good directors that won t let the experience people walk over them... avf has paid me a lot of dividends over the last 6 years in bad or good times..let s shake things up at the next agm

Wait a minute,... a NO vote might work out here depending on how long it is before the next AGM for us to vote out the current management. The problem with a YES vote here (in contrary to what I said at the starting post of this thread) is we will be changing from one bad management to another management which has a negatve track record. It's like jumping from the boiling kettle to a hot ...more

To add a further note, if we are given a special dividend from the sale of ER, perhaps we might consider giving CHX a chance though they have had a lousy record earlier. And add that with a reduced severance pay for the current management. Otherwise, we'd take a chance with a NO vote instead and wait for the next AGM to vote out the current management, and start our lives all over again ! ...more

Have to disagree with you there JR. A good portion of the present share price is based solely on the proceeds from the ER sale. If you pay those out to shareholders now, the share price drops and the current dividend now becomes unsustainable...  We have no choice now, the company needs to pay off what debt they have left and use what is left to drill for oil. Also the ...more
