FWIW, there is a study by Stassinnu Stantec LP on NL Govt website. Says that with additional investment of about $0.4- $0.5 billion investment QSN&L can move 88 million net tonnes per year.

Also briefly discusses topography problems around port of SI wrt suitable land for railyards, laydown areas, etc.
