Azure Dynamics Corp AZDDQ

Azure Dynamics Corporation (Azure) is engaged in the development and sale of electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) systems and components. HEV systems include an electric motor, an energy storage system (batteries or ultracapacitors), and an additional power source, such as an internal combustion engine/generator. An EV does not include the additional power source and only includes an electric motor and an energy storage system. It has four wholly owned subsidiaries: Azure Dynamics Inc., Azure Dynamics Incorporated, Azure Dynamics Corporation of America and Azure Dynamics Limited. Azure has developed electric and hybrid electric drive technologies for the light to heavy duty commercial vehicle category (the Technology). Azure has developed three primary product groups, which include full hybrid electric; mild hybrid electric; and pure electric solutions. Target markets include hybrid electric delivery vans and shuttle buses, as well as electric drive applications.

Bush league

Bush leagueGiven Bush's recent pronouncements as an environemntal convert - seems to be taking a page out of Harper's recent conversion - sort of like a shotgun wedding - would it make sense for Rothschild (yeah , I know, this Rothschild review has been a joke) but maybe the partner has to be large auto mfg and that AZD get on that bandwagon as Bush is wanting to reduce gas consumption by 20%. Hybrids would go a long way in attaining that goal but only if it is at the retail level i.e. the passenger car and light truck market. The light commercial is not going to have that effect. This would not stop AZD from continuing with that market but it would offer a larger volume. Toyota and Honda have already seen the potential but others are still in infancy. They could be courted and production could be under license from AZD. They need to do somnething because market inertia at this point is not on their side with their present "prospective customers". In addition, the investor has now lost nearly all interest in the company, and, it seems, most of the posters on this board as well.
