Unfortunately, the expansion is of such low grade ore it's basically useless except for a borderline open pit operation if that's even feasible? Seems like the bare minimum ore grade required is above .2% for open pit for a depth of up to 300 meters or so with lots of tonnage.
Eventually the decreasing Ni inventory will affect the price which so far has been disconnected with the dropping inventory. Perhaps a year from now we should see better pricing action. While we are hoping, perhaps the LME will come out with a Class 1 nickel price and divorce it from Class 2.
