More questions than answers
Hi everyone, I just want to throw in my two cents here, I am new at gold investments as I was always an equity, currencies and real estate investor.
BFD is my first and only real attempt at investing in the mining business and I like to think I am not a dumb guy but maybe I just don’t like to lose money, so I researched the business, the area and finally the actual company for quite some time.
I looked at the stage that BFD was in, the other investments/players in the area, looked at their old and even more so at their new management/board team (what an exciting first two months in the gold business for me, let me tell you ).
I also looked at osisko’s interest and involvement on it (a considerable part of my final decision I have to admit), I looked at financials, liquidity, etc.. and although I came a little late to the party currently averaging slightly above $.225 (I was buying at $30 cents last week by the way) I feel pretty comfortable and I like to think that I made an educated and smart decision.
It looked like to me that BFD had good mgmt., a great property, and even though I just saw shallow drilling results for BFD the deep drilling results of everybody else in the area are very positive (I am assuming looking at on all those maps of the area that the gold doesn’t just disappeared when it reads Beaufield on it, right?)....
Going back to my lack of knowledge in commodities and specifically gold though, what are the next steps here before they can start mining? Also do you think BFD and Osisko are going to work independently on that process or ultimately OSK will have to take BFD over to reduce their total costs and operate as they please in the area? If there is a takeover what type of premium are we looking at? Are OSK shares the likely scenario?
Besides the better financial metrics of OSK, mostly related with their size and access to capital I believe, what are other reasons for BFD to trade at such a discount with its peers? Is that property related? If so what are other gold areas that I should look at?
Thanks everyone in advance and please don’t panic and sell the stock at a discount… looking at the last few days that didn’t make any sense to me since investors that want to realize their gains would have taken their money out a while ago and you would think that the people left now believe/understand the company and the business and it freaked me out a bit that they were selling at a lower price of OSK’s latest large volume transaction at the beginning of the month.. and on top of that I thought I was missing some news or announcement however there wasn’t any….. is day trading still a thing on low volume days? I knew people like to gamble but that was ridiculous.
