Beaufield Cons begins 10-hole Lac Rouleau proBeaufield Cons begins 10-hole Lac Rouleau project 2004-03-17 17:04 ET - News Release Mr. Jens Hansen reports DRILLING ON LAC ROULEAU GOLD PROPERTY Drilling has started on a 10-hole program on Beaufield Consolidated's Urban township, Quebec, Lac Rouleau project on March 17, 2004. The new drilling will be integrated with previous work to improve modelling of the Lac Rouleau gold resource, which has been reported by a Quebec Ministry of Natural Resources report to contain 544,000 tonnes grading 7.2 grams per tonne gold (MRN GR 2001-14 P36). The resource occurs on a band of felsic volcanics known as the Rouleau member within the mafic Macho formation. The Rouleau member comprises calco-akaline felsic volcanics and tuffs which have been traced for up to 12 kilometres (six kilometres on the Beaufield properties), often in contact with sediments. Near Lac Rouleau, the altered volcanics are strongly sheared. The area has potential for both base metals and gold. The 100-per-cent-owned properties are located 120 kilometres east of the town of Lebel-sur-Quevillon, mostly in Urban township. They cover 327 claims, or 5,232 hectares. Seven additional claims, or 112 hectares, have recently been staked to cover possible extensions. In addition to Lac Rouleau, approximately three other locations within the Lac Rouleau area properties have now been covered with geophysics, and will be drilled if possible before breakup. One of these targets is an isolated bull's-eye magnetic anomaly coincident with a small round lake. The four-hole drill program at Matagami, Que., reported in Stockwatch on Jan. 28, 2004, has been completed, and core logging and analysis are under way.
