Value of ounces
Value of ouncesFrom what I know it is not appropriate to compare valuations for companies scattered across the globe.
If you look carefully at company presentations you will see that African miners always compare themselves to other African miners, Mexican miners compare themselves to other Mexican miners, and Canadian miners always compare themselves to other Canadian miners. The reasons for this are that you have to compare companies with the same political risks, the same labor costs, the same electricity costs and so forth. So I believe the comparison to Richfield is appropriate.
In terms of number of ounces, there was a geologist who stated that BGM probably had more than 5 million ounces just on the 10% of their land they are currently working on for our active projects. I encourage you guys to speak to Tim Kenny at the company about this if you want further detail.
BGM's overall land package has something like 110 creeks and rivers with historic placer gold production. We have barely looked at most of this prospective land because we have just so much of it. I am enthusiastic about the fact that we own 250,000+ acres of exploration property immediately surrounding or near Cow Mountain and Bonanza Ledge. Here is an example of the kind of drill results we have found when we have ventured into areas near our current projects:
From the presentation of Nov. 16 - slide 19:
Grouse Creek
-92 drill holes, 14,000 meters permitted
-Adjacent to Bonanza Ledge
-Samples returned up to 313 g/t gold
