We are long past the point of 'prevention'...world populations will only increase....
World glaciers and mountains are fed by the Global water cycle, which is full of ocean/air pollutants already...

If the water tastes bad...build a bigger purifcation plant....reactive solutions will need to step up to ever increasing demands on our system.....

Well, no doubt those words will generate some rebuttal....
