Why..I wonder

Why would CScharr  et. al., relatively young men, invest their time/credibility in a failing venture?

They have the facts, which I assume have potential, or they would likely be looking for other employment?

Why would 4 major comoanies invest their time and money to be potential partners if the facts did not support the potential?

Wishful thinking? Perhaps.....but I have read no other logical reason to explain why the management and the potential investors bother to meet if this is a failure?
