Smaller shorters only hold much less positions than the maximum record of daily trades, which is 2.3 million for Zinc8, When they cover their position,  the biggest shorter generally take over their short positions by continue shorting in order to void an immediate squeeze, this is called “Short Position Consolidation”. So those smaller shorters usually slip through with only very little bruise. Only the bigger ones that no one else take their short positions will get squeezed, in Zinc8 case, that is Hdawgz1/Nineply/Aiminem.
