RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Halt should be for this.A "pending news" halt at the request of the company usually doesn't last long in my experience but as you say, there are no rules on it. They may need to finish off some legal details on something before announcing and don't want any leaks to skew the price. There is talk this one could last until after New Year's. I suppose the longer the halt, the bigger the news!

I guess it will all depend on the reason for which the stock has been halted. There are very good comments as to why, but at this time, it's mostly speculations.
