Rumour SourcesDoes anyone else wonder if the posters who are prone to using phrases like “Rumour is” or “Rumour has it” are purely expressing their own speculation?
Brokers are not privy to any more insider information or special sources than ordinary investors/traders.
Of course they may receive legitimately released information before most others simply because they are often/usually in direct communication with some companies and are constantly scanning security filings.
At that stage it is no longer a “Rumour”; it is a Fact.
Another potential source for “Rumour” is when an analyst/other interested person considers various articles or circumstances that either do or could apply to a particular company, correlates them into possible” scenarios and envisions potential outcomes.
That would amount to an “Educated Guess” not a rumour.
