BacTech Environmental Corporation is a Canada-based company, which specializes in environmental technology. The Company uses a process called bioleaching to recover metals like gold, silver, cobalt, nickel, and copper, while also safely removing harmful contaminants like arsenic. It has identified the Ponce Enriquez area of southern Ecuador as an area where its bioleaching technology can be deployed for environmental processing of locally produced concentrates from mining and tailings reclamation. It continues to evaluate other projects in South America and Central America.
