Q2 Finiancials: Observations

A couple quick observations from the financials released last week - although the actual numbers arent as important as the trajectories for now.

Sales were essentially flat year over year. The good news is that they already have sales commitments that exceed last year and they deferred some invoicing into Q3 for a few customers. This means we should have a record Q3 and 2022 for revenue.

Althought sales were flat the gross margins actually improved significantly. They went from mid 30% to upper 40% and I think I even saw a 50% in there. Impressive if they can keep that margin profile on improved revenues.

Lastly, there are a few warrants, options and RSU's that have been part of previous capital raises, employee incentives and compensation packages. The good news is that the large majority of these have a strike price above .30 and some are above .40

All in all a great time to accumulate with everything the company has in the pipeline.

I have been following for about a year.  They are the real deal IMO.   Would love a good opportunity on a financinag.

Regardless of the product/tech itself, the reality of the market and the need for the company to finance could very well prevent this from working out for us I have seen another company, Nanotech Security, become acquired for what seemed like a good price if you had gotten into it quite late. But people who bought over a several year period either made nothing or lost money at the acquisition ...more

Not all buyouts are the same. Nano required extensive capex/opex to operate thus didnt have the leverage that BVT does. BVT also fits the ESG profile and is in a sector that needs innovation to improve yield and reduce input costs. Ultimately the board has to recommend a price that suits the best interests of the company. With the total addressable market for BVT being in the billions with ...more

Likewise, I've had success in buyouts in oil exploration but I wouldn't compare that against what we're hoping for here. There are many drillers out there while BVT's advantage remains it's proprietary biotech. They remain exclusive with excellent results. The daily news depicts the needed shakeup in agritech... quickly.  BVT=Higher yields, more food.    ...more

The exclusivity of BVT's tech doesn't matter. That's what I'm saying. If we end up waiting two years more for profitability, it doesn't matter if the company gets bought out for, say, $69 million if there's twice as many shares which were bought at half the price.
Comment by John99 on Jun 30, 2022 12:16pm
We know there are many variables such as dilution in every investments potential. I respectfully disagree that BVT's tech doesn't matter. Why? The economic times we are in and particuarily what is effecting agriculture. Food production/imports, hampered supply lines for whatever reason and especially drought. BVT's tech involving waterless delivery and an increased production ...more

110% agree. Hypothetical dilution and buyout prices are not worth my speculation right now. Execution is the only thing I care about. The total addressable market for BVT is enormous.
