Nobody has marketed aworking as advertised thc breathalyzer.
It is not that easy a device to come up with.
I daresay that Cannabix is barking up the right tree with their Mass Spectrometry approach which is the go-to science that they currently use for thc detection and other problem ingestables that impair drivers.
Hound has had honourable mention but no device and there are a few others that have thrown their hat in the ring that are no further ahead and most private companies that make it hard to invest in.
Tendering by the powers who be have also complicated their criteria by wanting a thc breathalyzer that also test for alcohol or other adulterants that impair.
Technically, Cannabix's science and approach is what is working now but in a controlled lab with qualified scientists. Not on the roadside operated by cops in all kinds of weather and humidity conditions.
At one time Cannabix said they have a table top model that might suffice but would require controlled atmosphere like a heated van which would fly because that is what was required for the initial blood alcohol breathalyzers.
I remember Lifeloc getting some matching funds to invent a thc breathalyzer which didn't materialize and they were already a bac breathalyzer manufacturer. A little foresight from the bac manufacturers would suggest that they should have been working on this device for decades as even I saw that pot was going to be legalized decades ago.
Lifeloc hit close to $40 per share for bac breathalzyer and some training manuals and the first one to the finish line with a working as advertise thc breathalyzer should do the same, especially considering that most participants have gone quiet on the realization that this is not an easy thing to come up with.
Basically it is a mineraturization and dummy down problem such that a less than scientific mind can operate it and they want something familiar to the pistol type bac type that will operate properly at the roadside.
Stakes are high with job loss and or loss of drivers license, not to mention loss of credibility if your boss finds out that you are a regular pothead, so whatever they come up with will have to be tested by the legal system for soundness because the counterlawsuits will be killer.
As quickly as this type of science is advancing it still has to work its way through government approval and court approval before it will be marketed to police. Business can get away with a lesser device because they take all kinds of liberties by muscling out broke employees who can't afford to fight it or terminate them for another reason than pot use or showing up for work stoned.
Cannabix has been able to generate shareprice spread several times, so there is money to be made.
I made some great returns on an early in investment with BLO and sold at one of the spikes. I held on to 5000 shares hoping that they are first to the finish line and a matching high that Lifeloc got of $40 per share.
