RE: Hello LAN

RE: Hello LANHere is a post below, I put in a month or two ago. This should help. Also since my previous posts Mutual fund managers are starting to recommend LAN and LAN bought a wireless company in Ottawa. This is a good longterm hold. I am still holding this one. (already took my profits) Why? This stock was trading over $26 not too long ago because it has the products, but was badly managed which put the stock price down. Having good products is not enough if you don't have good management which they now have. They also have a huge partner in Nortel who own over 12% of the company. Nortel expects to sell $10 Billion worth of Fibre optic equipment this year, you can bet Plaintree will be getting some of that. The Fibre Optic market is about to explode, on CNBC last Friday an Analsyt predicts the Fibre Optic market will grow 10 times in the next few years. For more information, Check LAN's site https://www.plaintree.com/ or Targa's at https://www.targa.cc/ or Nortel's at https://www.nortelnetworks.com/index.html Targa now manage Plaintree so here is the list of companies Targa does business with, and this does not include the customers Plaintree had before or the partnership with Nortel. Lockheed-Martin DASA (Daimler Aerospace) Cubic Defense Systems Eurocopter BFGoodrich Aerospace Naval Air Warfare Center Raytheon Systems Company Daimler-Chrysler Aerospace NASA - Johnson Space Center NASA - Kennedy Space Center Sanders, A Lockheed Company Racal Avionics Northrop-Grumman Raytheon E-Systems British Aerospace Raytheon - TI U.S. Navy The Boeing Company C.S. Draper Labs Raytheon Missile Systems Division General Dynamics Defense Systems Honeywell Defense Avionics Computing Devices Canada Litton - Advanced Technology Division Platforms Targa solid state data storage products are flying on an impressive number of platforms worldwide, including the following: NATO AWACS B-2 Stealth Bomber Space Shuttle X-38 V22 Osprey C5 Puma, Super Puma C130 Dakota Breguet Atlantique P3 F-15 F-16 SH-60B CH-53E Applications Targa’s products have been successfully employed in many military and aerospace applications, ranging in environments from the Space Shuttle to the Deep Sea Rescue Vehicle to military airborne recorders Targa has an extensive background in developing removable, solid-state data storage products, which are used in a diverse range of military and aerospace environments and applications, including: Helicopter HUMS DTU Airborne POD Recorders Airborne ESM Suites Surface Ship ESM Trainers Flight Line Memory Loaders Airborne Sonar Data Storage Space Shuttle Data Recording Airborne Data Transfer Systems And for anyone who knows Fibre Optics here is a list of Plaintrees products, Plaintree offers a range of computer networking products, focusing on switches for Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and Gigabit Ethernet networks. Plaintree switches also support other 100 Mbps technologies such as FDDI. Our high performance switches feature Layer 3 intelligence, automatic traffic management and broadcast/multicast control along with other NextWave features. These features let you build networks that are simply powerful. WaveSwitch 9200 — Gigabit Ethernet backbone switch WaveSwitch 9202 — Gigabit Ethernet switch (with 2 Gigamodule slots) Gigamodules — modules for the WaveSwitch 9200 and WaveSwitch 9202 Router Accelerator — Obtaining optimum performance and growth without new investment in routers Fiber EtherTrunk — multiplexing products to maximize the value of installed fiber optic cable WaveSwitch 4800 — FDDI/Fast Ethernet data center switch WaveSwitch 4008/4016/4017 — Fast Ethernet data center switch WaveSwitch 1216 — departmental LAN switch WaveSwitch 100 — departmental LAN switch WaveSwitch 1018/19 — workgroup LAN switch WaveSwitch 4+1 & 4+4 — workgroup switches FastLinx modules — modules for WaveSwitch 4800 and WaveSwitch 1216 systems WaveSwitch Media Converters — interconnection devices for networking devices MSL — Mirrored Server Link for Novell servers WaveBus — for high performance large frame Fast Ethernet fiber-optic networking WaveView — intuitive GUI Network Management Software NextWave Switching — dramatic performance enhancing features For a list of part numbers corresponding to the above model numbers, view the Part Number List. Plaintree Systems Inc. Product Overview Plaintree™ Systems manufactures high performance switching platforms in three product families -- WaveSwitch™ 1000, WaveSwitch 4000, and WaveSwitch 9000 -- to serve enterprise local area networks from desktop connection to campus backbone. By using highly-integrated custom ASICs and extensive Layer 3 intelligence, these products provide unprecedented LAN bandwidth while easing migration to networks that support the convergence of data, voice and video. Plaintree’s NextWave Switching™ features support the building of networks that are both powerful and simple to use. NextWave Switching Plaintree uses high capacity Layer 2 switching to maximize performance and Layer 3 intelligence to minimize network administration. WaveSwitch products with NextWave Switching features observe the Layer 2 and Layer 3 information contained in each packet. Then they use their Layer 3 intelligence to automate configuration and forwarding decisions based on that information. For example, adding Router Accelerators to a WaveSwitch 9200 provides Layer 3 switching up to 6 million packets per second without requiring reprogramming of routers, end stations, or even the switches themselves. The set of NextWave Switching features includes: Flexible VLANs - VLANs based upon Layer 3 protocol ChannelCast™ - Automatic screening of IP multicast packets SmartVIPS™ - Automatic configuration of VLANs by IP subnet SmartSAP™ - Automatic screening of SAP and RIP broadcasts SmartARP - Automatic screening of IP ARP broadcasts FloodControl - Automatic shutdown of streaming ports AddressCheck - Automatic exclusion of duplicate IP addresses Plaintree's NextWave Switching features are the most powerful in the industry because they work automatically with standard protocols. WaveSwitch 9200 The first product in the 9000 family, the WaveSwitch 9200, provides eight I/O slots which, when populated with various combinations of Gigamodules™, allows it to serve as a floor switch, a building switch, or a campus backbone switch. One chassis supports an aggregate of up to 64 FDDI-SAS (or 32 DAS) ports, up to 128 10/100BASE-TX or 100BASE-FX ports, or 384 10BASE-T ports. A 9-group RMON agent supplements 4 groups of RMON on every port. The switching fabric is four-way redundant, and boasts a forwarding capacity of 24-48 million packets per second. Redundant management modules and power supplies, together with trunk groups comprising any number of load-sharing links, complete a comprehensive fault-tolerant package which does not require sacrificing of I/O port capacity. WaveSwitch 9202 The WaveSwitch 9202 is a 2-slot version of the WaveSwitch 9200, designed for smaller networks. It uses the same Gigamodules and the same NextWave Switching software as the WaveSwitch 9200. Gigamodules These I/O modules plug into WaveSwitch 9000 family products and provide up to 4 Gbps of full-duplex switching capacity each. Router Accelerator -- Layer 3 IP switching up to 1.5 MPPS FDDI -- 8 ports SAS, usable as 4 ports DAS (multimode or single mode fiber) 100BASE-FX -- 16 ports multimode or 8 ports single mode 10/100BASE-TX -- 16 ports autosensing 10BASE-T -- 24 ports (RJ45) or 48 ports (50-pin Telco) Fiber EtherTrunk -- multiplexes 4 or 8 Fast Ethernets onto one fiber WaveSwitch 4800 This is an FDDI/Fast Ethernet switch for the data center, offering eight full-duplex, non-blocking 100 Mbps slots for mix-and-match FastLinx™ modules (see below).
