Perry & JD

I have to comment about this Green River Gold story. You'll see why in a moment.

I've been in the stock commentary business for a long time. My name id John Davenport and I write for and about public companies, mostly Canadian juniors. I'm mostly involved with high tech and biotech companies.

I have a lot of experience with public company executives, experience from the inside-out as corporate adviser, copywriter, marketing and branding adviser, that sort of stuff.

So here's why I'm here. The worldwide headquarters for me and my business is Quesnel, British Columbia. Green River Gold also works out of Quesnel, BC. Their offices and store are up on Two Mile Flat, 5 or 6 clicks from me.

And then, to top it off, Perry Little, President & CEO of Green River Gold, was my broker for almost 20 years and he remains a good and trusted friend.

So you have to understand that this is a friend writing about a friend. But it's for good reasons. Because I have been involved in the capital markets for so long, I needed a broker who knew stuff, really knew stuff. That's Perry. He is a stickler for rules and regulations, and his knowledge of them is encyclopedic. His adherence to them is without exception. He was (is, really) an accountant. If I came to him with a company that I needed to understand better, he never failed me. No BS from Perry. Period. As an accountant/auditor he could read a financial report in heartbeat. I'd get an informed and objective opinion.

For me, the only downside to knowing Perry Little was when I was busy but still had to listen to his speeches and prognostications about gold markets and gold mining companies. Man, he knows that world! It's a complex world of commodity and currency traders, economic cycles, politics, monetary and fiscal policies, world and local news, and he knows all that stuff. He also knows mining companies and their various approaches to mining.  He has great knowledge of how mining companies are operated. To fill out his knowledge base, he has surrounded himself with great help on the geology and mining engineering sides.

Perry has seen a lot of companies come and go. He knows why they come and go. He has talked to me about why he has chosen the Green River Gold business model of acquiring great properties and renting them out to local and other miners. It's all about revenue, right from the get go. Money makes or breaks these companies. With Perry, Green River Gold is on the right side of that equation.

I'm not going to write a lot about Gold River Gold right now. I'm too busy. Stockhouse writer, Dave Jackson, has put out a couple of great pieces about Green River Gold. They very much mirror the many discussions and meetings I've had with Perry.

The two pieces are:

Peter Bell has also started talking about Green River Gold. He has posted some interesting commentary on his ceo.ca site, https://ceo.ca/@newton. Scroll up to April 23 or so and you can pick up his conversation on CCR.

People in the Cariboo know "there's gold in them hills." In 2011, Peter Bernier's Richfield Ventures Corp. (V.RVC) was scooped up by New Gold Inc. for $550 million. That property was out on the Blackwater, not far from Quesnel. A lot of people around here made some money on that, including some local miners who have always known there's gold around here.

Last fall, Osisko Gold Royalties Ltd acquired Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. at a value of $338 million. Green River Gold has acquired properties close to Osisko.

One thing about gold is that it's there or it isn't there. If it's there, then great. Management of a company is another thing altogether. Inspired and capable management is the name of the game. If you've got good people, then you've got the best possible start to a new enterprise. I consider Perry Little to be that kind of manager and entrepreneur. He's one of those capable people who does things right, does them for good reasons and won't give up. Certainly, integrity and knowledge are there in abundance.

As a matter of fact, I think Perry only lied to me once. When he first told me about Green River Gold, the conversation went like this:

"It's called Green River Gold," he said.

I asked him, "What's the symbol going to be."

"CCR," he said.

"Sure," I said. "What else could it be! Green River Gold. CCR. Makes sense. Hahaha!"

He said, "No. Seriously. CCR."

"Whatever for?" I asked him.

"Because I like Creedence Clearwater Revival," he said.

To this day, I don't know whether that was true or not. If Green River Gold goes on to be a big thing, and knowing Perry, he could make that happen, then true or not, we've got a little story to tell about how CCR, aka Green River Gold, got started. The revival of some legendary Cariboo gold fields, the legacy of Billy Barker, and the gold panning stories of old, will all gain creedence when Perry and the miners look below and beyond the clear waters of these waiting hills. Nothing could be better for my City of Quesnel than to see this happen with Perry leading the way.

Disclaimer
I may or may not own shares in Green River Gold. That's my business. I have no financial relationship of any kind with Perry Little, Green River Gold or any person or entity related to them. I wrote this piece without compensation strictly because my friend and my city are involved. If these relationships change in any respect, I will report it here.

Go, Perry, go!

I should have checked that piece over. I said, "My name id John Davenport." That idn't quite correct. My is John Davenport. Also, Peter Bell's link at ceo.ca didn't come out the way I thought it would. You can get to Peter's ceo.ca thread by clicking here. Well said, John. Thank you.  "It's all about revenue, right from the get go." Strongly agree. Rare juniors that seem to understand this.  Shoutout friend Dan Cook from BMR. We had discussion of $LUX recently that was riffing on this theme in Nicaragua. See a quote from that discussion here,  #NewtonInterviews $LUX Thanks for the conversation, Daniel!
