The program is designed to increase exploration and to stimulate activities that could lead to the development of new mines and industrial mineral deposits in Manitoba. The program is available to companies who are both registered to do business in Manitoba and are proposing mineral exploration projects in Manitoba. The program provides assistance between 25 - 50% of approved eligible expenditures based on the location of the proposed project. Accordingly, project applications will be assessed and ranked on the following criteria: Project located in a region suffering mine closure; Successful completion of previous MEAP projects; Projects which have secured funding; Project budget; Projects which include diamond drill testing of defined targets; Applicant a Manitoba-based company; Applicant a new company to Manitoba; New or continuing project; Commodity type.
