$GOAT - Plant-based Investment Issuer to IPO Soon Billy Goat brands have been gaining some traction lately as they prepare to IPO onto the CSE ($GOAT ticker reserved). In simpler terms, they’re a private investment firm that gives the average investor access to private companies that would be otherwise inaccessible. Currently, they have 3 primary investments in companies servicing different needs across the plant-based sector.
- Vegan Butcher (12.4% ownership): A fully vegan grocery retail and e-commerce store with 2 locations in BC and new sites in Langley and Whiterock opening soon. Additionally, they plan on creating their own packaged brands depending on customer trends and analysis
- Funguys Beverages (100% ownership): A distributor of organic Chaga and lion’s mane mushroom-infused cold brew coffee under its KOLD brand. Each serving is infused with 20g of Chaya and Lion’s Mane mushroom extract, making it one of very few mushroom-infused drinks. Distribution across NA is set to begin this year.
- Sophie’s Kitchen (Ability to Acquire 46%): Sophie’s Kitchen is a company that specializes in creating plant-based/vegan seafood. Their product line includes plant-based tuna, shrimp, fish fillets, smoked salmon, and crab cakes. They are already being sold at leading retailers such as Walmart, Whole Foods, and Walgreens. This is by far the most valuable/exciting investment due to its future potential.

With more people than ever making the transition to a vegetarian/vegan diet, the plant-based sector is set to grow at a CAGR of 11.9% from 2020-2027, reaching a market value of $74.2B. This makes the plant-based industry the fastest-growing food segment on the market (tech-like double-digit growth). I'm keeping an eye out for $GOAT’s IPO since they have investments into companies all over the sector and are not concentrated in single products such as meats. Can't wait for this one!
