Among the companies this is set to impact, Interra Copper (IMCX.c IMIMF) stands out as an early-stage investment opportunity in the copper space, having recently initiated a drill program at its flagship Tres Marias Copper Project in Chile.
Located on the Chilean Copper Belt which accounts for 28% of the world's copper production per year, the 16,000 hectares project is in close proximity to several of the world's largest mines including BHP Billiton (BHP), Antofagasta Minerals (ANTO), Glencore (GLEN) as well as Freeport-McMoRan (FCX), who IMCX acquired Tres Marias from.
In recent news, IMCX's shareholders elected Mike Ciricillo, a mining executive with over 30 years of operational and project experience, Dr. Mark Cruise a professional geologist with over 27 years of international exploration and mining experience, as well as Rich Levielle who has a lifetimes worth of experience in the mining sector, to their Board of Directors.
Paul Robertson, with 20 years of accounting, auditing and tax experience, was additionally appointed as the company's CFO.
