I know you think with all the cash they make off us we could get some service. I really think this was intentional. I have a large TFSA account so does my wife and a buddy of mine . We all got locked out . My other buddy just started his TFSA so he was on it and I was coaching him . Funny he got all his shares in LIB at .66 the low of the day , and many more stocks  . At the same time I was trying my account/locked out or I would have been buying too . Tried the wife's all day and failed . Yet my buddy although glitchy filled most of his orders today starting a fresh TD TFSA with only 10k to start . 
Conspiracy theories maybe but coincidence I don't think so .....
