Thinking about Jim and Posner wondering how in touch these guys are with cannabis in general the culture, the youth, etc.
as if Jim and posner goal is anything other than making money , probably for themselves before shareholders if we can be honest . Probably every CEO. Anyway.
has Jim ever smoked , has David ? Does this even matter ? Part of me feels like it might but also the fact that they don’t might help in other ways .. Listening to them again on the webinar .. it doesn’t sound like they fully know what’s going on.
Canada - Was talking to dispensary owner about things today and he mentioned how dumb the decision to leave extracts out of legalization for the year. Most everyone I know has or is switching over to “dabs” or shatter or oil , etc. The decision of the gov and LP to just pursue cannabis flower ... yeah 5 years ago cool but now it’s about extracts . That’s an out of touch decision that will bloom the black market in Canada next year for extracts . Asked if the current extract companies on the shelves will be removed and he said yes temporarily , until like we both think, it becomes like craft beer . He also said extract companies that have been making good product for awhile now are being approached by LP who have no idea about the game. See Heavenly Daze, elevated extracts , squish rosin etc. Apparently a lot of them are holding out . Anyway .. legalization now kind of seems like a bunch of guys with money making the wrong decisions pursuing a straight up commodity .
it also doesn’t make sense to me that everyone has forgotten about traditional hash. Dry sift there is bubble hash there is traditional black looking hash , finger rub...that’s been around for probably 100s years . Why are no LP or anyone talking about this . It’s only Flower and Oils lol ..no shatter, rosin , thca crystals, terp sauce, traditional hashes etc. Bet a lot of CEO havent even heard of half of what’s out there and has no idea how to make it. Maybe their extract guy does.
Regardless of these ? I still believe in eats short path for their vape carts and for the body edibles it’s perfect.
**I also saw today that Jungle Boys might have an IPO soon , dan blizerian is involved . See Instagram . Compared to dedicated people and brands that have been immersed in the culture . What chance does square head Jim , David , etc have??? ** they are businessmen so hopefully they got that part of things on lock . they have made some great deals and acquired some good outfits and revenue streams
Part of me thinks people would rather have these black market established brands . Kandy pen , pax collab with blue river terp, the brand “Cookies” in Cali.... Hate to say it but losing some confidence . Part of me is ready to lose and not care if it fails lol part of me is thinking cut losses part of me is thinking just wait .. for now I’m going to start doing DD on some other picks and throw some darts at em .
Will Canada screw up legalization , is Cali screwing up theirs with the insane tax . Too many questions that will play out in time.
