Adastra triples capacity

Buys ethanol equipment, the same thing Nextleaf uses and brags gives them the lowest cost.

Frustrating to see this.

I hope we all see now that Pedersen is so far behind. I think this just make the company NL stop their version of uniquely positioned and disruptive. Turns out there is zero special about NL and I will be lucky to recoup my shares as I bought when I thought they were positioned to rocket while awaiting a licence. Silly me

So Adastra is entering the same extraction space with the same off-the-shelf tech as Valens and Medipharms, who are actively transitioning into product manufacturing due to margin collapse in that space. Wonder how they'll do...  ------------ From Adastra July MD&A-------------- Liquidity risk The Company manages liquidity risk by maintaining an adequate level of cash to meet its ...more

Looks like Adastra will need "substantial" future financing to pay for their new toy.  Apparently the race to the bottom is putting pressure on all of us in the sector.  HMMJ was $15.25 last year at this time and on Friday it was at $6.86.  If someone from IR is reading this, we need an "update asap."  Too many jumping ship and the lack of news is most ...more

At 4 times our cap, the market doesn't seem too put off.
Comment by billybonk on Aug 16, 2020 5:09pm
...the bottom line is this.  "Substantial" financing still required whether here or there requires updates which Nextleaf isn't providing and Adastra for the time being appears to be keeping shareholders happy. Whatever they're are doing over at Adastra is something we're not doing.  I would say it's our lack of "deals", 3 million private placement ...more

wow adastra is overpriced and has major financial issues. At least we dont have those debt issues. Really hope we get more sustainable revenue to ease all our minds. PP money i hope is being used wisely.
Comment by stealthct on Aug 16, 2020 6:31pm
adastra can do 650kg per day with new machine. Thats the same as our capacity. Is our machine still better?
Comment by LastoftheFranks on Aug 16, 2020 8:35pm
Cost per mg is the only number you should worry about.

The EV-Mass, Evolved Extraction Solutions is located in Pitt Meadows, BC.  If you're not familiar with the lower mainland, Pitt Meadows isn't far from Coquitlam BC and Nextleaf Labs. Is this our IP tech that EV-Mass is using?  I think this might be the company that Nextleaf has IP licensing with?  Could any one elaborate more?
Comment by LastoftheFranks on Aug 16, 2020 9:00pm
Good question for IR.
Comment by stealthct on Aug 16, 2020 9:11pm
it is our patent. Im sure our IP partner is Evolve. Isnt Adastras partnered with the Nova Scotia company? Highlander Cannabis something. If this is our tech and only make 100k per month, not worth licensing. Its going to make a ton of competition with the same scale.
Comment by LastoftheFranks on Aug 16, 2020 9:54pm
Nextleaf's competitive advantage [in theory] is the closed-loop high throughput extractor. Licensing the secondary purification equipment provides a greater revenue stream over time than competitive value that would be created by witholding the technology.  If your competitors have to buy your equipment to play against you, you're already winning. If Adastra is buying their IP, what ...more

wow Adastra has good volume today and almost at 1.00. They announce they are tripling capacity and the price increases that much? Wish we were affected the same way.
Comment by KTMFan387 on Aug 17, 2020 10:02am
What has been their catalyst to drive the SP up 300% in the last 6 weeks?  WHat did they announce back then that has them on such a tear?  Any idea, I haven't been following that company other than the SP.
Comment by LastoftheFranks on Aug 17, 2020 12:12pm
Adastra is building out a facility with proven extraction methodologies. Their progress can be accurately tracked vs Medipharms and Valens since it's the same model. This lowers risk in terms of accurately projecting growth. It also means they're victims to the same margin collapse issues as the industry commodotizes. Nextleaf is still proving out its closed loop extractor. Until margins ...more

It didn't occur to me earlier, Sunday's beer drinking put my mind asleep.  Then I remembered hearing or seeing the name "Evolved" months back, from a text, call or from the grapevine at some point, I can't quite put my finger on where I heard the name  but I'm almost positive that Evolved Extraction Solutions is the company.   Definitely a question for ...more
