RE: Sink or swim ?

RE: Sink or swim ?Everyone is using the last quarter to predict OPTI's future.....they ate a large hedge hit that quarter and that does not represent the near future.  By March '11 OPTI should be cash flow positive, assuming $50 mil/qtr interest payments and that the plant productoin continues to increase as expected.   It sounds like this last upgrader outage stunted growth a little more than we first expected, but as i said before, better now than in the middle of winter when it's -40!

If we are set back one month to hit 72K, it's no problem.  Is Nexen trying to screw OPTI?  Not if they don't want a legal shitstorm.  Joint ventures run amock everywhere, even where I work, and trust me, it would take some pretty good coordination and alot of general illegal participation to pull that off.  Nexen's shares are feeling some pain becaue of this, too, and I garantee that managment is pushing to get that place going as hard and fast as possible.

I agree, though, some news would be nice.  I'm pretty sure that they only want to give really good news as the last so/so good news (400 million lien) was not taken so well.
