The big boys do NOT place their buy or sell orders like we retailers do; they call their broker and let them know that they want to unload a big block and ask the broker to look for prospective buyers. Like you said, if someone place a sell order for a huge block like this, it will surely drive the price down big time. And if someone palce a buy order for this same block, it will drive the sp sky high. Big blocks order do not use the "bid and ask" process our small orders go through.
