RE:Weed Delivery in Ontario

The day after the announcement Mulroney was on breakfast TV and said all packages will have to be signed for/registered with ID as proof of age being over 19. Canada Post currently does medicinal weed delivery. As of Oct 17th you won't be able to buy weed directly from companies in Ontario unless it's medicinal, it has to be through the OCS website until April, which is when physical shops open. Even post April it seems like Ontario wants to keep online sales exclusive to the OCS for recreational weed as the private dispensaries will have to buy wholesale from Ontario as well as opposed to buying direct from a Canopy, Aurora or Aphria. It looks like all provinces will have a monopoly on online sales, there won't be any direct recreational sales etc.. including online sales from dispensaries and or local shops

Legalization is about 2 months away - Oct 17.

I wonder what the rollout timeframe for a TO operation would be. They seemed to set up GVA and lower mainland operations pretty quickly. They leased 100 vehicles to cover the Amazon delivery business, and the rest were private vehicles.

So assuming they follow the same model as the GVA and have the same experienced project managers that setup and refined lower BC, I believe they could be operational within a few months of an announcment.

What's the estimated size of this recreational weed market in Ontarion anyway? Anyone run any numbers on this?

Does LCBO have home delivery? Who delivers for Amazon in Ontario? Who currently delivers medicinal weed in Ontario?
