Quinsam Capital Corp > QCA, not an investor friendly company!

QCA, not an investor friendly company!

First off, a big thank you to everyone who contributes on this board. Now lets get down to the frustrating part. Why is it so hard for Roger to issue a PR stating that Quinsam will issue their Earings Report on a specific date. Every other company I own does that. You would be surprised to see how many investors, although mostly daytraders would come on board. But atleast we get some life. Has anyone here seen a price go up on no volume, I haven't! Secondly, stop investing in so many companies. I am getting a headache just reading the report. Yes diversification is necessary to reduce the risk, but by doing so, you also minimize the upside. Last but not least, invest in markets that are hot right now. Crypto (ethereum), Green energy etc. Cannabis is old news. Oh and market yourself properly, a couple of zoom presentation won't hurt. I am getting the impression that Roger can't reinvent himself and is happy with his salary and dividends. If I don't see any change before May 08, I am a seller. Holding 234 000 shares impatiently.

why not just look at the trend that clearly shows when they'll release Financials, in regards to year end it has been April 31, May 1, and April 27 for the last 3 years

Wow so that's the way we go about it. I will spread the word to Apple, Msft and Goog. Lets see how their shareholders react. Think small stay small. It's time for our Roger to understand how the "public" process works. Keep us posted, not guessing.

I agree. If markets were solely based on merrit QCA would be valued higher. Markets are not rational though. They are driven by information and buzz. The reason that the best small cap companies promote their companies is that it works. Small and invisable is a loser strategy. Look at the PR Roger was doing around the time that the price spiked. Through some luck I made a healthy porofit. I really ...more

Hear hear ! A key part of his job is to promote interest in Quinsam as an investment opportunity to outside/ prospective investors ( a fiduciary duty of Mgt. to enhance shareholder value)  To do that, IMO, he has to improve the demand/supply equation for shares....to help to reduce the discount to NAV - and, better yet, to establish a premium to NAV for the benefit of shareholders ...more

That's quite an investment strategy.  Buy something unloved, then whine your way into the CEO's confidence to the point where he trusts your instincts better than his own, then he does what you tell him to do, then you sell and leave him with a broken heart, only to whine your way into the next CEO's confidence.  Brilliant!

Well Ok, let's leave things as is, seems to be working just fine!

If for the next five years Quinsam repeated the last quarter earnings would you be interested in them as a company still? People must ask themselves... are you an investor or a speculative trader?
Comment by mercedesman on May 03, 2021 2:47pm
Not a chance !! When the general Cannabis market goes up by 40 - 50%, it does not impress me that QCA's portfolio went up by 10%. Might as well buy my own basket of Cannabis stocks.  I'm paying Roger to beat the market, and he should not pay himself (especially options grants) if he does not. But I will admit, one Qtr does not a fair assessment make. Let's see how he does for ...more

Well if you're here for the big show and big movers you're in the wrong place. Growth at $0.01 a quarter is over 10% return in a year, plus dividend. people getting too greedy these days.
Comment by SolexxX on May 04, 2021 5:46pm
A 10% return on assets of $32M would be $0.30 a share. A 1% retrun would be $0.03 a share. since there is no debt, sharholders own the underlying assets. If I wanted to buy a dividend it would not be this undervalued penny stock.  If you love the company and watn't to hold it forever, good for you. I bought this stock to leverage a basket of PP equity before US federal law changes to ...more

To each their own. You're being too antsy considering we have yet to report Q1.  if you're complaining about a company why do you own it?
Comment by noremac50 on May 05, 2021 9:02am
Quinsam hasn't traded near it's NAV for what feels like 4 years. Anyone who's been here long enough, would probably agree that it's NAV has been priced between .25 and .35 for a LONG time and it's been trading at 50% off or more for that whole time (very annoying for shareholders) So for many. Roger reporting a couple pennies a share doesn't really mean much when ...more

Short and sweet.  Nicely said! Firstly, some have said they're waiting for US MJ adoption, then they constantly complain before the event even happens.  That's wack!  Secondly, QCA has lots of investments waiting to go public.  These should increase NAV in a material way.  To expect NAV to go WAY up in advance of either of these 2 events happening might be a tad ...more

Facts and opinions on a forum are not "complaining" Go back and observe the end of cannabis prohibition in Canada and you will see that the market moved well ahead of legalization. Timing the market when the cat is already out of the bag has more risk than buying PP positions. Why do I own it? Because I see a large potential for a large profit. In the past Roger promoted the company. Now ...more

Nobody is investing here, can't you see that!
Comment by epcdpspmvp on May 06, 2021 10:44pm
By the time I sell my shares, the stock will be back at the price I bought it at. Need buyers to sell it too. Can you imagine if I place a sell order of 250k shares at market!! You can kiss your 10% a year return.
Comment by epcdpspmvp on May 06, 2021 10:41pm
MM although I agree with you 100%, the real issue is not the company's performance but the stock's performance. There is no guarantee that the stock moves up if the company does well, we have the proof now. No one is buying. Stock won't go up, period. Roger can say the NAV is at 10$, nobody cares!
Comment by theinvestor22 on May 07, 2021 10:00am
Completely wrong!  You can't just wave a promotional magic wand and make investors appear.   Company performance is the only issue at present.   Here are the NAVs for the past few years.  (BTW, these are my calcs of NAV, which include some options/warrants and the cash therefrom, so they might differ in a very small way from published amounts.)   Q1 2018 ...more

I think that's where you are wrong investor22..... The volume on this stock stinks. A fund managers job isn't just to find the next best thing to put in the basket of holdings. It is also to update the financial markets and promote so new investors come and want to invest.(volume)  I feel Roger has done a good job of finding some companies to invest in and building that out. However, ...more

Nobody is asking for a magic wand In 2018 QCA traded at a significant premium to NAV/sh - aided by the Cdn cannabis market. In 2019 and 2020 and 2021, up to today, QCA has been tradiing at a SIGNIFICANT discount to NAV/sh Sure momentum in the sector helped to garner interest in 2018.  But we had a surge in Cannabis stocks in the last Qtr of 2020 and first Qtr of 2021.  Nada for ...more

PS   One of the reasons for the flat-ish NAV/sh performance is.... Share-buy-backs (anti-dilutive/NAV/sh postive) are offset by Stock optins paid to Mgt. (dilutive/ NAV/sh negative) Shouldn't options be used to reward NAV/sh growth over time? Or better yet shouldn't options be used to reward SP growth over time (enhance shareholder value) And finally shouldn't they ...more

I have no problem with the CEO as a stock picker, but surely everyone must know that about 80% of the NAV increase over his tenure has come from opportunistic fund raises and (to a much, much lesser extent) share repurchases. Like most, I look forward to watching the story unfold, especially from the perspective of pent-up IPOs.  If the NAV really grows from the company's actual ...more

Whether you are an investor or trader, the end goal is the same. And the way QCA is being managed, you won't make money either way.
