Thermo Fisher Scientific has agreed a new manufacturing partnership with medical diagnostic company Miraculins, pertaining to the creation of a skin cholesterol test.
The exclusive manufacturing and supply agreement covers a three-stage technical process ending with the production of PreVu Non-Invasive Skin Cholesterol Test commercial reagent kits, for sale to customers.
Under the terms of the deal, Thermo Fisher will be responsible for the creation of PreVu Point of Care test kits and the supply of reagents for the PreVu Lab Processed Test, thus accelerating the product's progress to market.
This product offering was recently acquired by Miraculins, with Thermo Fisher having previously manufactured the reagents and test kits for the former owner.
Kathy Napier, divisional director for business development at Thermo Fisher's clinical diagnostics business, said: "We have been impressed by Miraculins' vision, the potential of this technology and the commitment of their team to bring it to market."
Last month, Thermo Fisher Scientific completed its acquisition of Phadia, a leading developer of allergy and autoimmune disease diagnostic products.![ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800738821-ADNFCR](https://feeds.directnews.co.uk/feedtrack/adferocopyright.gif?feedid=8000103&itemid=800738821)
