Latest discoveries worth a second look
The discovery of deeper lacustrine units not previously known to exist is particularly interesting news from SCV - this discovery places the evaporative deposit into the regional lithium host of the Esmerelda formation. The lower lacustrine unit is essentially all volcanic ash with local pebble gravel interbeds and at 1,100 feet, the borehole recently completed passed through a major fault zone into Paleozoic age limestone, part of the basement rock sequence of Clayton Valley.
