that is the conventional wisdom however this is not a conventional market. Using stops with this kind of volatility/manipulation on a thinly traded stock is a sure fire way of giving your stock away to the MMs. If you're in the money thats for you to decide but many in this stock are not, and stop losses are just not effective in the way that they are intended. If the market makers couldn't see the orders they wouldn't push the stock down to grab them and then restore the original price. I've lost count how many times this has happened to me and I don't use tight stops. It's not a level playing field so you have to use them sparingly or you will get burned.
