Symptomatic vs Asymptomatic

With Abbott's bombshell announcement yesterday, we are now down to a very simple situation. Can the Sona test really detect the virus pre (or very early) symptoms or not? If the answer is 'yes', then Sona is firmly in the game still. If the answer is 'no', then there is trouble ahead. And here's why:

In the last NR Rowles stated:

"Rapid, point-of-care, antigen tests can make a significant contribution to reducing the spread of COVID-19 by detecting the presence of the virus, potentially before the onset of symptoms"

So, this seems to be a generic statement on Antigen tests rather than on Sona's test. Can Sona actually achieve this? There has been lots of speculation that it can here, on CEO and on twitter but we need to see the proof. Where is the data that suggests this? Someone on Twitter tried to suggest that because there was 60 negatives, then the study was focused on asymptomatic individuals but that is pure speculation which seems to now have been accepted as fact by some investors. This is dangerous.

Abbott's test comes with very clear claims regarding when it is sensitive and when it isn't. Sona needs to do the same, and fast. GLTA

You know in NR they have to be very careful what they say until they have the FDA approval.  The whole point of the SONA TEST and has been right from the beginning is that it can detect the virus at very low levels, sometimes within the first 24hrs of infection.  I think you should do a deeper dive on SONA to see exactly what it is they have.. sonanano.com  There website if full of ...more

Thanks. I'm well aware of what Sona claim their tech is capable of. However, lab claims are totally different to clinical proof, and that's why I'm interested how everyone seems to have drawn this conclusion that the test can pick up asymptomatic cases. It's very dangerous for the ordinary investor. My position is that if this small clinical study was performed on asymptomatic ...more

FDA has approved only 1 test so far, for the Asymptomatic.  All others are for Symptomatic but can be used for Asymptomatic following guidlines,  Since Asymptomatic can have the same Viral Levels as symptomatic. “FDA’s authorization of the first diagnostic test to be used for anyone, regardless of whether they are showing symptoms of COVID-19 or have other exposure risk factors, is a ...more

So why is this Abbott product suddenly okay? It will do nothing to stop the spread of the virus, but what it will do is send people to a testing facility with a full blown case of Covid-19 or the flu, either way it is too late and others have caught it, Sona identifies the virus in the first critical days, which will help, what a con the Abbott NR was, have people forgotten this so soon… https ...more

I don't think anyone is suggesting the Abbott test is perfect but it has a place for sure. It's the first test that can confirm infection in 15 minutes without a reader. Also, they have released very detailed clinical information stating its large range of sensitivities so the user will know when it's reliable, and when it's not. As for "Sona identifies the virus in the first ...more

Perfect is an gross understatement, this test has proven to be a disaster yet people have the Gaul to compare to it SONA, when it is not in the same category, SONA will be classified the future, Abbott test is going to help cause the spread of the virus further because of when people get tested. The incubation period is known but now we encourage noticeably sick people to go to a testing facility, ...more

What are you talking about? This is a brand new test
Comment by Findingmoney on Aug 27, 2020 8:56am
So, in two months they created a brand-new test, abandon the old one because it was not working as the last link showed. They did all the requirements and got the approval, and were fast tracked again even with the first debacle? Now show me where it is a new test, I am skeptical if it is and more so if it is not, a new NR yes, a new test, show me. Even the concept of going into a facility when ...more

You tell him Findingmoney ... It astounds me still how these trolls come by only to provoke investors and cause trouble.  We know better.. Sona HAS come so far in the 7 months I have been doing DD. .. overcoming each set back & challenge with the conviction that they knew they could do it.  They persevered and got it done.  Final Submission is in and I bet we get a NR on that ...more

Trolls? Listen, there is very little "educated" about your guesses my friend. When someone turns up asking questions you don't like to consider, you turn round and label them trolls and bashers and bury your head in the sand. All I'm interested in is seeing the best possible tests get onto the market. We desperately need them. And as for Findingmoney's great insight. Abbott ...more

Are you invested in Abbotts, If I was I would be on that board celebrating with them about their achievement.  Why are you here all of a sudden?
Comment by Hightide22 on Aug 27, 2020 9:39am
Ans I should add that you showed up as of July 14th opned ypur account and posted only on SONA's board trying to question and place doubts on their Test....
Comment by MikeyH on Aug 27, 2020 9:39am
I've been following Sona since March because I'm interested in their tech. That's why I'm here.
Comment by Hightide22 on Aug 27, 2020 9:44am
Your tone says it all but if you really think SONA's test is not going to hold up and you have been invested since March ( which means you are sitting on a $hit load of $$$ if you bought ) you can alwats sell and invest in Abbotts and all the others Covid tests plays.
