Legalization - The Perfect StormSome compelling factors coming together in the US and a possible real sleeper announcement.
- The leading likely Democratic contenders for President have put marijuana legalization front and center with their support for marijuana legalization at the federal level. Trump will not get re-elected without supporting legalization and implementing legalization under his watch so as to take it off the table of issues for the Democrats. So even if he loses the die is cast and there will be no rolling back.
- With the recent horrific Florida school shooting the polilitical activism of the millenials has been triggered and there is no stronger demographic for legalization than the millenials.
- The US opiod crisis is getting out of hand. No one overdoses and dies from the use of medical marijuanna in the management of pain. This is currently a truth hidden in plain sight - but not much longer.
- For those still on the fence the Tinley's and the EATs etc will show socially acceptable recreational uses of marijuana and the baby boomer generation notion of associating marijuana with hippies smoking weed will quickly dissipate.
- The court case currently in front of the New York judge is downright compelling. If the government's motion for dismisal was going to be granted the judge would have already taken this action as the hearing for dismisal was heard on February 14. The lawyer presenting this case for the plaintiffs has presented in a way to make it virtually impossible for the judge to defend the absolute idiocy of continuing marijuana as a chedule one drug. In quiet contemplation in the judge's chamber a landmark decision may just be days away in the making.
