Remember the issue with cans and their liners, that seems to have been resolved and it certainly appears this is the most popular form factor at least in the Canadian market. I'm sure the logistics of manufacteuring and distribution of cans is easier than bottles, so I'm not terribly surprised this dominates the fridge space.
Interestingly enough we are about to commission our canning line and I will walk out on the branch and say most of the NDA's that have been signed are for clients waiting on this canning line. I truly believe we are on the cusp of a serious breakout and the volume lately supports it.
Happy Friday,
I would say that the can supply problem has been resolved. Clearly, the aluminum reaction to our ingredients has been resolved too with liners capable of protecting the drink.
Cans are lighter, stackable, cool fast and space efficient due to the stackability for racks and especially coolers.
Our RTD products need the cool appeal to be properly enjoyed, not so much for the multi-serves.
Bottles are a nicer drink experience than the can and there is just something about that long neck bottle that is appealing enough that manufacturers went back to it in Canada after their stubby, universal use beer bottle, usable by any manufacturere so less sorting and transportation and several fills before trashing the bottle.
Aluminum is recyclable so less landfill while bottles are heavier and less stackable for transportation.
I have to agree that I believe our co-packers are waiting for our can line to get crackin'!
Keep in mind that shelfspace is expensive real estate in dispensaries and retailers and that cooler space is a premium to that already expensive shelf space.
Having our co-packing surplus is another income stream that could make Tinley a profitable company if our skus fail to command marketshare. I am hopeful that the awards and extra effort put into formulating our products and tweaking them for release pays off but the odds of rejection are concerning.
Good news is that Canopy launched and did well with some not so good beverages just on the novelty and more appealing way of getting your buzz on than smoking and vaping.
Tinley is a going concern, confident enough in what we bring to expand our capabilities with cans and petuloids. Our license also includes other styles of skus, too, if we go there!
I perused a few competitors with intentions for cannabinoid beverages and Tinley has been beaten down hard considering that we are virtually debt free and on the verge of co-packing revenue, as well as our own product sales revenue.
By comparison, Tinley is looking like its on sale! Check out T.FLO, C.CNTR and JSDA for marketcap and negative revenues. Last I looked Tinley was only under by a cent and a half as we arrive as a new entrant to the market.
