People aren’t selling stock to buy warrants. They already own them.
 
As for selling stock at the identical price to the strike (exercise) price of the warrants ... That’s actually not all that unusual IF the warrant holders are “friendly” / want to support the company as it’s a no cost way (except commission) for them to channel cash into the company while maintaining their shareholdings.
