Clearford has become largest decentralized water&wastewater

operations systems in Ontario, with the latest increase by acquisition, to *170 sites*.

Introducing Clearford’s New VP of Business Development, Andrew Vitaterna

Building a great water and wastewater management business is no different from building a great company in another industry: you start by bringing together the best people. That’s why we’re proud to introduce Andrew Vitaterna, one of the many talented professionals who recently joined our team when Clearford acquired ASI Water.

Prior to the acquisition, Mr. Vitaterna had been with ASI Group since 2000, most recently in the role of Manager of Business Development for ASI Water. A professional engineer since 1987, he spent the first 13 years of his career in the consulting engineering business designing decentralized water and wastewater treatment systems.

“In 1996, I managed my very first design/build project for a communal wastewater plant and secured a long-term operations contract for the facility, which we continue to operate to this day. That project was the foundation to starting up design/build/operate services at ASI Water,” he explains.

Drawing on his background and professional know-how, Mr. Vitaterna will play an important role in leading Clearford forward as Vice President of Business Development.

Driving growth across Ontario and beyond

Mr. Vitaterna was instrumental in supporting the expansion of ASI Water’s operations to 90 sites across the province with 30 licensed operators. Following the acquisition, Clearford has become the largest operations company for private decentralized water and wastewater systems in Ontario, servicing 170 sites.

As Mr. Vitaterna now directs his efforts toward growing Clearford, this industry-leading position is opening doors to promising opportunities. Our vast geographical coverage within the province is a key advantage for Clearford as it enables us to deliver better, more efficient service to our clients. Over the next few months, he will focus on merging and aligning the ASI Water (now Clearford ASI) and Clearford Waterworks operations structures to prepare the company for future growth.

“As VP of Business Development at Clearford, my focus is on expanding our operations business in Ontario – and subsequently into other provinces – across the private sector, as well as the municipal and industrial sectors,” he says. “I am looking forward to drawing on the combined expertise in both Clearford and ASI Water as we move forward together as Ontario’s go-to company for operations of decentralized systems.”

Providing technical expertise

Decentralized systems have evolved over the past 20 years – a trend that Mr. Vitaterna has both witnessed and played a role in shaping. Technology is now more advanced and sophisticated while regulations have become more challenging, often requiring owners to outsource operations and liability.

“We have experience operating a wide range of treatment systems and know which technologies work better than others, which is valuable input for our design/build team. This expertise also makes us an invaluable partner for our clients as we bolster their in-house capabilities with our deep technical know-how,” explains Mr. Vitaterna.

Creating long-term partnerships

Going forward, the nature, role, and importance of water and wastewater technologies will continue to evolve and grow. With Clearford’s expert team and industry-leading technologies, Mr. Vitaterna looks forward to supporting our clients by delivering world-class technical solutions and service.

“Beyond all the technology and long-term planning that go into water and wastewater projects, one of the critical requirements is trust,” says Mr. Vitaterna. “Our clients recognize our unwavering commitment to health, safety, and environmentally responsible operations, and I look forward to strengthening our existing partnerships and building new relationships by working with the entire Clearford team to earn this trust anew, day in and day out.”
